VAPE is engaged in the development, production and sale of ignition systems, digital control units, alternators, regulators and other devices for use on motorcycles, watercraft, snowmobiles and other petrol engines.
The firm ranks in Europe the prime position in the production of the electro equipment for vintage motorcycles, watercraft and snowmobiles, supplies in to the basic industry and for many services. VAPE products are exported in several European countries eg. Germany, Spain, Austria, Swiss and others.
The company was established in a region with a long tradition in the aerospace and automotive industries. The founder of the company was the current executive, who, together with 8 employees with professional experience, formed the basis of the company. From the very first intention was: to enter the world market in the field of ignition and power supply kits for oldtimer motorcycles of many types of world-class factory brands. Subsequent activities were directed to the development, production and sale of ignition components, alternators and voltage regulators not only for motorcycles, but also for jet skis, small tractors and other internal combustion engines. The company's activities started in May 1991, in the garage of a family house, and were further implemented through several rented premises. With the gradual increase in employees, it was necessary to look for additional, larger administrative and production premises. In 2004, we managed to buy a suitable, albeit very devastated building on Bílanská Street in Kroměříž, in the current headquarters of the company. The purchase of this building meant a major positive turning point for the further growth of the company. The large size of the building made it possible not only to reconstruct existing properties in a modern way, but also to construct new buildings and structures. The architectural division of the individual buildings and rooms promised a good future for the company's further development. Every year, there were significant reconstructions, construction and modernization of the entire company building. At the same time, significant investments were made in the purchase of new, modern technologies. Since 2006, several other buildings have been built and equipped on the site.
However, it can be emphasized that the first 15 years of the company's existence were an extremely challenging period for obtaining financial security for the business and the subsequent repayment of the loans obtained. All this was at a time of a very unstable market environment. It was also very difficult to build a good position on the market and gain the trust of customers. All of this required taking great risks repeatedly, with a clear vision, maximum effort, and unwavering belief in a better future.
The great work was successful and at present the company's premises and technological equipment are at a very good level, comparable to the European trend.
