Generator/electronic ignition for DKW NZ250/350 to replace the large stock dynamo in engines with aluminium carter and the large round dynamo cover
Unfortunately we get often customers who confuse this with the system for DKW NZ 350-1. This system is totally different! The 350-1 had a much smaller dynamo and der carter was made of cast iron.
Replaces the complete stock dynamo ignition, upgrades to 12V/180W and solid state ignition. May be driven completely without battery (but take note of limitations)
Ignition is static as with the modern carburants and the high tension ignition there is no need to have reduced advance at startup. Rotor weight in System 70 25 700 00 (137mm diameter) is 3kg in place of formerly 5. This reduces wear on bearings and gives smooth driving.
No need for mechanical changes on engine block (except to enlarge wire exit hole by 2mm)
